In this category you will find salad recipes, ideal for those hot summer days. Some of the recipes might be strange or unusual but hopefully they will give you some ideas and inspiration. Most salads need very fresh ingredients, which may not always be to hand if you're busy, but there are alternatives. Rice and pseudo-grains such as couscous can make a pretty good salad with the minimum of fresh ingredients. If you have a vegetable garden you can probably find something to add to them to liven them up a bit.
Try adding a tiny amount of ingredients that pack loads of flavour like smoked bacon, capers, anchovies, olives, pickled chillies etc. Just a spoonful out of the fridge can totally re-invigorate a bland salad.
