Further information
Cataluña is divided into four provinces: Barcelona, Tarragona, Lleida, and Girona and is situated in north-east Spain. The cuisine of Cataluña offers a wide variety of products from the sea, its mountains and its orchards. It has a number of typical regional dishes such as Zarzuela Suquets or Escudella, Calçotada and Salvitxada. Also typical is the Pa amb tomàquet, bread with tomato that accompanies many dishes. Alioli and Salsa Romesco also originate from the area. Another speciality of the area is the Fueter Vic sausage from Osona.
Cataluña is home to the famous 3 Michelin Star El Bullí restaurant run by Ferran Adrià, which has been voted as the world’s best.
