This is a lovely crisp pastry, perfect for meat pies or quiches and now I use nothing else now due to protests from my hubby!

Mise en place

Method

  1. Sieve flour, cut butter into 1cm cubes and grate cheddar.
  2. Add everything to food processor and pulse until mixed into chucky crumbs.
  3. Add water one tablespoon at a time and pulse food processor until ball of dough is formed.
  4. Use immediately or freeze for future use

Serving suggestions

This makes 6 individual pie crusts and lids or 2x quiche crusts or 1x large pie crust and lid

Chef's notes

Using a orange coloured cheese will make the cheese noticeable in the pastry
