Little Black Bomber is an extra mature Cheddar cheese, produced by the Snowdonia Cheese Company. It is also known by the name of Snowdonia Original.

The cheese is produced from cows' milk and is made with vegetarian rennet, It has a thick, black, waxy rind, a strong creamy taste and is available as either a 200g truckle or a 3kg cutting wheel. Unlike some waxed cheeses, the rind is very easily removed. This perhaps one of the nicest Cheddar cheeses that I have tasted.

While visiting Snowdonia I tried Little Black Bomber cheese (and bought a whole lot more to bring home), I have to concur with Julia's comments. A fabulous mature cheddar, the kind that makes the top of your mouth itch as you eat it, yet it has a creamy taste and texture, uncommon in Cheddar.
