Ail rose de Lautrec (Lautrec pink garlic)
From Cookipedia
IGP Ail rose de Lautrec is garlic with pink cloves, and a flowery stalk, available principally in spring. It is produced in 90 areas with clay-limestone soils located around Lautrec (department of Tarn). The product is grown from certified seed sown on clay-limestone soils, harvested in early summer and then dried either naturally or artificially.
The link with the geographical origin is based on:
- qualities (pink colour, keeping properties, taste) derived from the geographical area (nature of soil, traditional know-how of producers)
- the reputation of the product
The area has long been a traditional producer of pink garlic
