Kaki Ribera del Xúquer

Kaki Ribera del Xúquer aka Caqui Ribera del Xúquer is a DOP persimmon grown in the Ribera del Xúquer valley in the Valencia province of Spain. It is firm, has a yellow-orange coloured skin and a sweet, fragrant orange flesh, similar to a peach or mango. It is best eaten fresh. It can be eaten like a peach, in salads, and with poultry, lamb or pork, and also used in a range of desserts. It has high levels of vitamin A and C, and potassium.

The production area is restricted to the following municipalities: Albalat de la Ribera, Alberic, Alcántera de Xúquer, L'Alcúdia, Alfarp, Algemesí, Alginet, Almussafes, Alzira, Antella, Beneixida, Benifaió, Benimodo, Benimuslem, Carcaixent, Cárcer, Carlet, Catadau, Corbera, Cullera, L'Énova, Favara, Fortaleny, Gavarda, Guadassuar, Llaurí, Llombai, Manuel, Masalavés, Monserrat, Montroy, La Pobla Llarga, Polinyá de Xúquer, Rafelguaraf, Real de , Montroi, Rióla, San Juan de Énova, Sellent, Senyera, Sollana, Sueca, Sumacárcer, Tous, Turís, Villanueva de Castellón.
