My research tells me that lemon substitute could have been one of two things:

1) Apple peel (although this seemed to be more for jam recipes)

2) Citric acid, now called E330 (it has been made industrially since the early 1930s from a mould called Aspergillus niger) - this is more likely for this recipe.

Might be a good idea to put in metric equivalents for these weights, --Roses2at 17:20, 6 August 2010 (BST)

I'll give you the typo - I meant to comment on the imperial weights. I've left them so the text is verbatim from the original leaflet - pictured.

There are converwsion tables if people need them - I don't suppose many people will make the MOF recipes, I really added them for historical interest.
