Meat mincer
A meat mincer or meat grinder is a kitchen appliance for mincing, grinding or mixing raw or cooked meat, fish, vegetables or similar food. The producer puts the food to be minced into a funnel, which is placed on the top of the mincer. From there the material goes on a horizontal screw conveyor. The screw conveyor is powered by a hand which squashes and partially mixes the food. At the end of the screw conveyor there is a knife installed directly in front of the fixed hole plate. At this opening the minced meat comes out of the machine. The fineness of the meat depends on the size of the holes of the plate. The meat mincer was invented by Karl Drais in the 19th century.

If you don't have a hand mincer and you want to mince meat, use a food processor with a metal blade. A few quick pulses is all that it takes.
