Jelly bag

A jelly bag is a cloth or nylon bag which is often suspended on a stand to allow excess liquid to drain from foodstuffs separating liquids and solids. This process relies on gravity and is often left overnight to complete. By not squeezing or forcing the straining foodstuffs, the resulting liquid is relatively free from small impurities, therefore clear. As it's name implies, it was originally used in the process of making jellies jams and preserves.

Home-brewing outlets have similar products. A tea towel or pillowcase, boiled so it is sterilised, suspended over an upturned stood will do the same job, just keep it out of the way of your pets!
