Purple Romanesco broccoli also know as Purple Roman cauliflower, Purple Broccolo Romanesco, Purple Romanesque cauliflower, or just Purple Romanesco is a broccoli with a purple flower head.
It looks almost as though it could be either a cauliflower or a broccoli though I would cook it and use it as I would normal broccoli.
It is certainly a handsome vegetable. Our local shop M&B, Outwell had some in recently and the sight of them stops you in your tracks - you just have to buy one! Only 85p (November 2020).
