The best Christmas pudding of 2014
Just before Christmas every year, Which selects a panel of experts to run tests on a selection of Christmas puddings from leading supermarkets and upmarket retailers. This year's survey had some surprising results, showing that the cost of the pudding is not always a guarantee of quality. The winning pudding was the cheapest of the 11 tested. The Morrisons £3.99 Christmas pudding was described by the panel as "Simply majestic". It was commended for its nutty texture, citrus notes and great depth of flavour. Unfortunately the £10.00 Fortnum and Mason's St James Christmas pudding did not receive such a glowing review. It was described as having an unpleasant and artificial flavour, with one reviewer likening it to citrus bathroom cleaner.
