This wiki cheese category page contains detailed information and photographs of cheeses produced in the European country of Hungary.

Further information

Hungary is a land-locked country extending from Austria in the west to the Ukraine in the east. In culinary terms, it is more well-known for its gulyás and paprika than anything else, but Hungary does produce some very good cheese, much of which is made from cows' milk. However, most of its cheese is produced in factories although some of them do use traditional cheese-making methods.

Unfortunately, it is almost impossible to buy Hungarian cheese in the UK, so if you know anyone who is visiting Hungary, ask them to bring some back for you to try. If there are any you particularly like, then pester your local deli or supermarket to stock it.
